Project 10^100

Now is your chance to turn one of your brilliant, unrealized ideas into a huge payday (that is, money; not a giant candybar, though on certain afternoons that would perhaps be more appealing). Through their Project 10^100, Google is offering up to 10 million dollars for ideas that change the world by helping as many people as possible.  Once the winning ideas are selected, Google will release RFPs to target organizations best-suited for implementation. Your ideas can span the following categories:

  • Community: How can we help connect people, build communities and protect unique cultures?
  • Opportunity: How can we help people better provide for themselves and their families?
  • Energy: How can we help move the world toward safe, clean, inexpensive energy?
  • Environment: How can we help promote a cleaner and more sustainable global ecosystem?
  • Health: How can we help individuals lead longer, healthier lives?
  • Education: How can we help more people get more access to better education?
  • Shelter: How can we help ensure that everyone has a safe place to live?
  • Everything else: Sometimes the best ideas don’t fit into any category at all.
Just so you know, I’ve already submitted an idea that incorporates all of these categories, so it’s probably not even worth your effort at this point. Pass the message along. If we get enough people to not participate, this will enhance my chances of winning the 10 million.
